Simple Crockpot Canned Green Beans pack a lot of flavor at $0.60 a serving. There are plenty of ways to prepare fresh green beans, but the smoky bacon, brown sugar and butter are perfect for the canned beans.

Ingredients

  • 4 cans green beans (drained)
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Crumble and set aside.
  • Cook the onion in the bacon grease.
  • Put all of the ingredients into the crockpot, including up to 1 tbsp of the bacon grease.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
